LENGTHY DEPLOYMENT FOR NAVY SHIP

The Navy frigate HMNZS TE KAHA will depart Devonport Naval Base on Monday June 27, 2005 at 11:00am, sailing for Operation Cutlass II, a 5 ½ month deployment to Australia and Asia.

TE KAHA will first proceed up Auckland Harbour to Kauri Point Armament Depot, departing for sea at 3:00pm.

During the deployment TE KAHA will be representing New Zealand in a variety of operational exercises, activities and Defence Diplomacy visits.  TE KAHA will visit Singapore and Kemaman, Malaysia as well as various ports in Australia.

Media are invited to the Devonport Naval Base for HMNZS TE KAHA’s departure at 11:00 am Monday 27 June, 2005.  Entry is via the Main Gate, Queens Parade, Devonport.  Photo ID is required.
