Return for Navy Frigate DELAYED
Wednesday 20 July, 2005
Completing a 4 ½ month Asian deployment, HMNZS TE MANA will be warmly welcomed back to Devonport Naval Base by family and friends at 10:00am, Friday 22 July.
TE MANA, accompanied by tanker HMNZS ENDEAVOUR, has represented New Zealand in a variety of countries since sailing in March–including at the Aichi World Expo, Japan, and in Vladivostok, Russia as the first ever visit by a New Zealand warship.
Maritime Component Commander, Commodore Jack Steer said “The 178 personnel of TE MANA have displayed versatility in their role working with allied navies in combined exercises, and with foreign governments on diplomatic visits. They have positively contributed to the profile of New Zealand and our Defence Force overseas during their deployment.”
