Navy Dive Support Vessel to visit Wellington

HMNZS MANAWANUI, the Navy’s diving support vessel, will berth alongside Queens Wharf, Wellington at 08:00am Friday 29 April 2005.
MANAWANUI will sail from Wellington at 10:00am Tuesday 3 May 2005 to commence a multi-agency training exercise in the Cook Strait region. Over a six day period MANAWANUI will host two groups of seven personnel from the Ministry of Fisheries onboard.
The ship will not be open to the public during her visit.

Formerly the STAR PERSEUS, HMNZS MANAWANUI is a purpose built diving support ship brought by the RNZN to support the work of the Operational Dive Team.
Earlier in April MANAWANUI was involved in assisting the Maritime Safety Authority in clearing toxic pods from the waters near the Poor Knights, Northland.
