GOLD AWARD

ORDER OF ST JOHN NORTHERN REGION (SI)

Mr Hank Bader of the Order of St John has been awarded a Gold Award for their outstanding support of ASEA Robert Annersley.

With the Order of St John being a Not for Profit organisation, they have excelled in the principles of supporting a Reserve Force member.

They not only encouraged and assisted with Rob’s deployment on HMNZS Canterbury for Operation Tropic Twilight, they also topped his military pay up while he was away.  This allowed him to deploy knowing his family wouldn’t be financially disadvantaged while he was away; this enabled him to focus on his training.

The Order of St John and the Navy Reserve have gained a well trained team member who continues to be a win/win for both organisations.

We at the TFESC thank you very much for this outstanding support and present this award in recognition of this.

As recipient of the Gold award for these Regional Awards, you will be attending the National Awards ceremony at Parliament House in April 2010, along with Mr Peter Townsend, TESC Regional Chairman and Lt Cdr Tim Elley, Commanding Officer HMNZS PEGASUS.

SILVER AWARD

MAINZEAL PROPERTY & CONSTRUCTION LTD

Mr Graeme Earl of Mainzeal Property & Construction Ltd has been awarded a Silver Award for their continued support of Able Seaman Ryan Chappell.

Mainzeal were awarded the Bronze award last year for their support of Ryan in the Naval Reserve.

This partnership has continued to work to the benefit of both organisations.

During a “quiet” patch in the construction industry, the Navy was able to help by taking ASEA Chappell to sea for 3 months.  This allowed Chappell to complete some more of his Navy training while providing crew supplementation to the Navy during Customs and Fisheries operations.

Mainzeal have continued to support Chappell by providing leave and top up pay and in return gaining a person trained in leadership, fire fighting and first aid.

We at the TFESC thank you very much for this continued support and present this award in recognition of this.

BRONZE AWARD

HUMES PIPELINE SYSTEMS

Mr Duane Peterson of Humes Pipeline Systems has been awarded a Bronze Award for their support of OSEA Bruce Hoskins.

OSEA Hoskins is currently undertaking his basic training at the Royal New Zealand Navy College in Auckland.

Duane has provided support & encouragement towards Bruces new career in the Naval Reserve Force.

Having this support from your employer is a large step towards making a winning partnership for the Navy & Humes Pipeline Systems.

We at the Territorial Forces support Council thank you very much for this support and present this award in our recognition of this.
