July 2011 - WELLINGTON NAVAL RESERVES PUT THEIR HANDS UP SUPPORTING CHRISTCHURCH BUSINESS EXPO
The Naval Reserves Division in Wellington HMNZS OLPHERT took the opportunity to put their "hands up" and volunteer personnel over the weekend in a practical contribution to help Christchurch business get back on their feet.
OLPHERT Personnel along with a contingent of Army logistics recruits, Members of the Mana Academy and other Volunteers supported the Red to Black event in unloading Trucks and assisting in setting up the 60 stalls from 0400 to 0800 on Sat morning. It was a meaningful contribution to the event, and very well received given the tight timeframes the Charitable Trust Organizers were running to.
"This has been a great chance to show our support for Christchurch, and follows on the excellent work carried out by HMNZS PEGASUS Naval Reserve personnel involved in the immediate and ongoing response to the Christchurch earthquakes" said HMNZS OLPHERT Commanding Officer Lt.
Commander Gerad Chaplin.
