Port of Tauranga - Wins Regional Award.
The Port of Tauranga Ltd has been chosen as "Employer of the Year" by the Bay of Plenty Regional Employer support Committee.
Lieutenant Commander Andrew Wilson of the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNZNVR) nominated his employer, The Port of Tauranga Ltd, for the award. Lieutenant Commander Wilson is a member of the Tauranga Unit of HMNZS NGAPONA and has served on a number of operations and exercises overseas during the past three years, including 6 months in Sudan as a Military Observer with the United Nations (UN).

The 'Employer of the Year' award was established to recognise the contribution employers make by allowing staff to train and serve as members of the reserve forces of the New Zealand Defence course.
Representatives of the Port of Tauranga will attend the national final of the Territorial Force Employer of the Year function with other regional winners in Wellington in early 2012 when a national winner will be named.
