April 2011: NGAPONA's ANZAC Day
A number of the ships company from HMNZS NGAPONA paraded at the Memorial Wall and gardens at Devonport Naval Base on a cold wet ANZAC morning. Many of the ship’s company represented NGAPONA and the RNZN and paraded at other services around the country.
The Memorial Wall at PHILOMEL has special significance to the RNZN Volunteer Reserve as a large percentage of the sailors whose names appear on the wall and are now interred in unknown graves, were members of the Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War.
