HMS VICTORY was Admiral Lord Nelson's flagship during the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805. (From a Nicholas Pocock painting). 21 October is Trafalgar Day, and 2005 was the 200th anniversary of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson's famous victory. The Navy commemorated this victory that shaped our history with a series of events. The largest was held in our namesake port of Nelson, where ten ships from the New Zealand and Australian Naval fleets assembled between 17 and 25 October. ( 114.9KB jpg )
