The Navy's Rock Band ensemble

Rock Band

The latest incarnation of the Navy Covers and Rock Band is a good way for the members to get together and have a good old jam session. The Band was formed in 1998. Three of the original members have kept the Band alive with the help of an additional six talented members who now make the Band a nine-piece funk/soul/rock/pop/reggae extravaganza. For a while we were an eleven piece!

The last twelve months have seen the Band go from strength to strength and now we have charted out all our arrangements to get a tighter sound. The four piece Horn section are always 'doing it to death' on the stage and enhancing the 'booty shaking' on the dance floor with their devastating moves. The rhythm section put the groove right in your pocket where you want it, and the vocal harmonies are sitting beautifully on top of it all like the secret recipe on top of the fried chicken. We arrange most of our own charts and play charts from back in the day to the tunes that keep us smiling now.

Our influences include James Brown, Steely Dan, Ben Harper, Bob Marley, James Taylor, Tower of Power, RHCP, Maceo Parker and Toto.
