AMUS Louise Emms

Louise is from Huddersfield in Yorkshire, England. Having played the piano from an early age, she took up percussion aged 14 and soon developed a particular love for tuned percussion.

Louise completed her music degree in the UK in 1999 and since then has worked as a percussion teacher and performer, playing with a number of Yorkshire orchestras and Brass Bands.

A six month backpacking trip around the world in 2001/2002 gave her the travelling bug, hence the move to New Zealand in January 2007.

Before joining the Navy Band she was percussionist for a Carl Davis production of Alice In Wonderland, which she claims to have performed a total of 135 times!
