AMUS Oliver Furneaux

AMUS Oliver Furneaux MC 07-0073-04.

Instrument: Trumpet

 

Born in 1984, Oliver holds a BMus(Performance) in Trumpet from the University of Auckland, and has almost completed the requirements for a GradDipJazz from Massey University.

Oliver comes to the Navy Band after working as a freelance musician and trumpet teacher in the Auckland region.

He has worked with many professional groups including the Auckland Philharmonia, Brass Monkeys (New Zealands Premier Brass Ensemble – Artists in Residence at the Corelli School for the Arts) of which he is a founding member, and has worked on big shows like Cirque Rock, and Shane Cortese with the Class of ’58 sold out Tour of New Zealand.

Oliver’s interests outside of the Navy include SCUBA diving, fishing and surfing. He also plays Touch Rugby for Eden Flyers, and Hockey for East Coast Bays Hockey Club.
