AMUS Kevin (YongKang) Yu

Instrument: Alto Saxophone

Kevin (Yongkang) Yu joined the band in September 2006.  He was born in 1985 in the city of Qingdao, China.  At the age of 12, Kevin started playing saxophone in his school band.

In 2000 he and his family immigrated to New Zealand. He began studying at Birkenhead College, where he was a member of both the Concert Band and Big Band.   Kevin is currently studying for his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Auckland.

Kevin also likes playing sports, his favourites being soccer and basketball.
