Reason for joining the RNZN?

“I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do straight after school and I thought the Navy was a really good option to give me time to think whilst I earned money and gained skills for the future.  I believed the Navy was a good opportunity to gain experience in things that I wasn’t used to and would be a good challenge to me personally.  I also really liked the idea of travelling around the world and seeing new places.”

How have you found naval life so far?

“Very challenging when it comes to being away from family and friends, but full of awesome experiences you wouldn’t be able to get working in an ordinary job!”

Best thing about being on HMNZS Resolution?

“The Ship’s company, the best shipmates in the Fleet and also the chance to see and explore New Zealand.  It is an opportunity to see parts of my country I wouldn’t normally go to.”
