Having returned from a well earned Christmas leave, HMNZS RESOLUTION set about preparing for the new survey season and during the first week back conducted a series of Harbour training serials under the guidance of the Maritime Operational Evaluation Team (MOET).  Fleet Divisions were held on Friday 18th with Ship’s Company doing themselves proud alongside the rest of the Fleet.

The Ship’s Commanding Officer, Commander Tuffin took the opportunity to have his son baptised onboard on the following weekend, prior to the ship sailing on Tuesday 22nd for its Sea Training exercises, again with the tutelage and assessment of the team from MOET.

On completion of the training, achieving a safe and wholly satisfactory pass, survey calibrations were carried
out to ensure the ship was fully ready for the resumption of shipping lane survey work in Hawke Bay, before
returning to Devonport for the Auckland Anniversary Weekend.

The ship then sailed on the following Tuesday for a port visit to Tauranga, which included a reception held onboard for various local dignitaries.  Despite a wet and gloomy start to the visit, the sunny summer weather resumed just hours after the ship arrived alongside and a very enjoyable visit ensued.
