Dec 05  - Navy ships return home with a bang

ENDEAVOUR and TE KAHA in the Hauraki Gulf returning from deployment to SE Asia and Australia, 10 December 2005 More than 225 sailors onboard HMNZ Ships TE KAHA and ENDEAVOUR were welcomed into Auckland with a bang after more than five months away from home.

The two Navy ships returned to Devonport Naval Base, Auckland at 10:00am, Saturday 10 December.

As they approached the Naval Base, frigate TE KAHA fired an eleven-gun salute at 9:50am. The shore establishment PHILOMEL responded with a seven-gun salute.
TE KAHA and ENDEAVOUR have completed a deployment around South East Asia and Australia. During this period they participated in various training activities, sharing skills and experience with the Australian, Singaporean, and Malaysian Navies.
