Bridge

The Bridge of Te Kaha with a view of Devonport Naval Base in the background

When at sea, the ship is controlled from the Bridge.  Situated at the front of 02 deck, it is an ideal position for observing the maritime surroundings. It is from here that the ship’s course, heading and speed are controlled. This is important not only in transiting between ports but it is also absolutely critical in battle where the physical positioning and manoeuvring of the ship is crucial.
