Damage Control Area

Damage Control personnel fighting raging fire with hoses What happens if there is a fire onboard? A flood? Or toxic gas leaking from equipment?  It is crew members onboard who are responsible. Personnel gather at one of two Damage Control Areas to take action to save the ship. Having two Damage Control Areas means that crew are dispersed throughout the ship and better able to assess and respond to damage to the ship. Everyone onboard the ship is trained and can become involved in fire fighting and Damage Control, including shoring and stopping leaks plus decontamination and other procedures.  Damage Control training occurs throughout your career.
