Diesel Engines

The Diesel Engines being inspected by a Marine Engineering Officer and a Rating

The ship has two Propulsion Diesel Engines that are predominantly used to drive the ship at lower speeds. These are MTU 12V 1163 diesels  which produce 8500hp each. The Frigate is able to utilise a range of propulsion options- running on both Diesel Engines, or on one single engine at any time. The alternative propulsion is the Gas Turbine, used for sprints at higher speed.

In addition, there are four power generation diesel engines onboard. These generators have an output of 650 kW each.
