Gas Turbine
The ship is fitted with one Gas Turbine engine, which is used for shorter period sprints at high speeds (27+ knots).
The Gas Turbine is a GE LM 2500, basically the Marine version of a Boeing 747 jet engine. Producing over 30,000hp, the Gas Turbine is used as an alternative to the two Propulsion Diesel Engines in the next section aft in the ship.
